Teledildonics is a very real thing, and has been around in the sex toy industry for quite a while now. You can get wireless toys that communicate with the toy with wireless remote control, or wireless toys that work using a smart phone via bluetooth, or even sex toys that can connect to a computer and be controlled across a continent.
But what if you could control a sex toy, not with a remote control, but with your mind! Yes, exactly like Professor X. Well, this will be a reality sooner than you may think.
Just this year a company managed to use Open BCI to think a device into turning on.
Stephen des Aulnois was lucky enough to work on the project.
“They can solve problems of long distance sex for instance, [as well as] help disabled people to take control over their body and sexuality,” said Stephe.
But it isn’t just the idea of having sex using mind controlled toys that gets him excited, it is the precipice he stands on,
“Controlling the sex toy with your brain is in itself a rather satisfying experience. It’s pretty crazy.”
“You can connect objects to a lot of things,” says des Aulnois. “We connected the sex toy to a twitter hashtag, and the International Space Station. Everything is possible, you only have to imagine it.”
Unfortunately this technology, or this area of Teledildonics, isn’t quite ready for consumer use. In fact, it is a while away. Your mind is a complex and very active organ, and getting it to control just one thing successfully and consistently can take a bit of concentration.
Stephen des Aulnois admits that simply controlling the toys remotely with your smart phone or remote control is currently the easier solution, he believes that this form of Teledildonics is the future.
